This is what happens when you’re not paying attention and put an EF-S lens on an EF body…luckily for me, I didn’t mess up my 5D when it happened…what a dumbass…

Sunset Cattail

I’m in the process of attending a weekend-long photography workshop put on my Colby Brown, Varina Patel, and Jay Patel. After the workshop finished, we had a meet-up at Croke Reservoir in Northglenn to shoot the sunset. While we were waiting for the perfect light, I walked along the edge of the water, shooting as I went.

I finally decided that I was going to do a splash photo. Or more accurately, a drip photo. This has been on my to-do list for some time, but I’ve never gotten around to trying it until now. So, for your viewing pleasure, I present…drip.

Neighborhood Tree

Yes, I’ve been slacking. But I’ve also been back-posting, so you got no proof! So there…:-P

I was out for a walk the other day, and liked the look of this tree, so I grabbed a shot with my phone. It’s the tree equivalent of someone with salt and pepper hair.

This was shot with my macro lens, and you can see the pollen, ready for the taking by some enterprising bee.

I’ve been getting some “gentle” prodding to do a selfy. I don’t like that. I don’t like pictures of me, plain and simple. BUT…in the interest of “personal growth” (heh), not to mention shutting everyone up, here’s my selfy…

Waxing Gibbous

I seem to always have the urge to takes pictures of the full moon, even though I know that very often the best details are blown out because of the direct angle of the sun. Tonight I decided to take a few shots of the waxing gibbous moon, and sure enough, there are a lot of goodies visible that you can’t see when the moon is full.

Bierstadt in Black and White

The summit of Guanella Pass was gorgeous, but the light was too harsh for a really great shot, so I tried some black and white processing to bring out some drama in this shot of Mt Bierstadt and the Sawtooth.

This also means that I only have 100 days left in my non-366-project. Hard to believe it’s been almost 9 months since I started. Maybe I should call start calling it an actual 366 project? Naaaahhhh.

Pretty Sunset

I was sitting outside watching the sunset, when it started getting really pretty. Click.

Blue Moon

No, it’s really not blue. I mean, I could MAKE it blue, but that really doesn’t count, does it? It may not be blue, but it is indeed the blue moon from a couple weeks ago. It’s referred to as the blue moon because, like the proverbial expression indicates, it rarely happens. What’s rare about this particular full moon is that it’s the second one of the calendar month.
